Brazilian oil and natural gas explorer, HRT Participacoes Em Petroleo SA (HRTPY) stole the show today on the OTC as the top traded entity – and not in a good way. Missing out on the “U” in their company name, volume exploded today on HRTPY stock after the Company announced they hit a dry well in their exploration efforts of Moosehead-1 (2713/16-1 ) in Namibia.
Globalstar Inc. (GSAT) kept their balls rolling on the back of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) putting the Company’s requested notice of proposed rulemaking on circulation for consideration. A provider of mobile satellite voice and data services, GSAT stock has been hot ever since late August when Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) reportedly tested the wireless network. It’s a bit weird though that, according to the Bloomberg reporting of the test, “the people who asked not to be identified because the test was private” makes little to no sense.
Lastly of note, Medical Marijuana Inc. (MJNA) remained a “puff, puff passer” in the top 10 traded after “A Justice Department official says the federal government will enable financial institutions to transact business with the legitimate marijuana industry without fear of prosecution.” Although the original news from August 29 when James Cole, Deputy Attorney General for the Department of Justice released guidance for federal enforcement agencies and prosecutors helped for a mini-spark, the entire group of marijuana stocks, especially Hemp Inc. (HEMP), could see some aggressive trading as the week continues.
